While Norman provides numerous frameworks, approaches and examples from around the world, his approach is pragmatic and designed to achieve the desired outcome as efficiently as possible.

He works closely and unobtrusively with you and remains flexible to the emerging themes and issues.

In order to prepare for a consulting assignment, Norman would:

• Have several meetings and discussions to define the purpose and approach for the exercise, and also to understand the context of the team or organisation
• Request relevant information about the challenge, the organisation and the participants involved. This might involve business plans, research and reports on relevant topics
• Agree the content and format of the exercise once you have reviewed the draft 
• Once the exercise commences, Norman provides regular feedback through meetings and reports as you progress.
